Zva Creative September DT Blog Hop!

Zva Creative and our talented Design Team welcomes you to join us this month for a blog hop that we feel is always extra special! We thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize! See details below.

The summer trade show was in July, which means brand new Zva Creative products. So please keep an eye out for them at your local craft stores.

As you know, Zva offers so many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on FIVE of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package...YAY! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts today, September 26th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, September 27h and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 28th on each of the five winning blogs. I created a very girly layout this time. The picture is of one of my nieces. I used black crystal Zva swirls that really pop against all the other colours.

Sketch #19 at Keeping-the-best is totally gorgeous. I have played with the new resistpapers from Pink Paislee. To create the background I used mists, inks, gesso and stamps. It turned out kind of cool, don't you think...

And to complete the layout I used gorgeous flowers from Prima...

...and a beautiful pearl swirl from Zva Creative.

Prima inspiration

After the workshop at CountryScrap I went on using the Prima theme. I made a layout for this month's BAP at Prima's blog.

I have used the new Romantique collection along with other Prima goodies. You find a bunch of them at CountryScrap.

This week's colour challenge at The Color Room is so gorgeous. I made this layout using the sketch and the colours.

I have used different techniques for it - stamping, misting, fussy cutting... Papers, flowers, alpha and stamps are Prima, the overlays are from two different companies (don't remember which though) and the metal piece is from Tim Holtz.

I attended a workshop...

...by Ingvild Bolme last weekend. We got to try her new tools as we used some of her favourite techniques. I really enjoyed her class and I am going to buy the tools for sure.

First we made this layout...well, I didn't make it exactly like Ingvild's, but very close...

And then we made this layout. This time I followed her layout...almost...

Ingvild had posted these pictures from the workshop on her blog. In the first picture you can find me in the bottom left corner.

For Glitz

Today I am going to share some Glitz layouts. In the first layout I have used the gorgeous Laced with Grace collection to scrap this photo of one of my nieces. She is having some yummy ice cream. The colours of the papers are fabulous to use for black and white photos.

To create a place for my title, I layered a Glitzers on top of a Journaling piece.

Next, I used a picture of my teenager standing in front of a brick wall. The colours of Love Games is a bit darker and goes perfectly to these pictures.

First I wanted to create a brickwall on the background paper. I used a mask and some gesso to create the effect.

And then I layered a few Paper Layers and a Peek-A-Boo behind the photo.

And also a Whatnot that also became the actual title of the layout.

The banner pieces are a part of the Journaling.

Say cheese

My son is so goofy sometimes. And I love it!

This layout I created for a Round Robin challenge at Swirlydoos. I made this for my team and it's going to be so much fun to see what the rest of the team will lift from it. The papers are from BoBunny's Timepiece.

Stickers are also from BoBunny. The flowers are Prima and Kaisercraft and the chipboards are from Dusty Attic.The black pearl swirls are from Zva Creative.

How I store...

...my layouts. Someone has been asking my how I store my layouts, since they are quite bulky. I have made quite a few layouts for my children and those layouts are put into albums. These are the ones I have used:They are from AMM and the folders inside are quite wide. If you make less bulky pages, the album has room for 40 layouts. If they are bulky you can put about 20.

My talented friend Lisa Valentine showed examples of how to use gesso and I was inspired at once. I have bought a new mask from Prima. Just look at how cool it is when used with gesso.

Keeping the Best

I was invited to guest design for the Russian inspiration blog Keeping the Best, which is so cool. Anyhow...My dear Australian friend, Nadia Cannizzo, made a sketch for me. (Thanks once again, Nadia!) She makes marvellous sketches!!! And here's my layout.

I have used the gorgeous Curio papers from Basic Grey and some flowers from Prima and from Petaloo.
And the Artisan Elements from Pink Paislee add some white.
