It is December

It is December - a month of joy and warmth. Even though we have lots of snow here in Sweden and it's really cold, December is a great month. I have made a layout for the December challenge at Once Upon A Sketch. The papers are from the Swedish company Maja Design. The collection is called Vintage Winter. I have also used a chipboard fence from Imaginarium Designs.

A few close-ups...

Here's the guidelines for the December challenge at Once Upon A Sketch...

Theme:  It's December...

We would like you to create a layout and interpret the theme "'It's December.. " however you like based on the following sketch. You can journal as little or as much as you like, but your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch below. Please make sure that we see some sort of journalling on your layouts and please tell us where your journalling is . Hidden journalling is perfectly fine.

Ideas for Journalling: We know that not everyone celebrates Christmas in December, but if you do we would love to hear all about it. If not, then tell us anything that you like about December..celebratory on not!

Published in My Prima Place

When I guest designed for Prima in August, I made this layout for My Prima Place volume 3 (Aug 2012). I made a step-by-step tutorial that you can find in the magazine.

Christmas ornament for Glitz

I hope you are in a holiday spirit because my step-by-step today is for Christmas ornaments. They are very easy to do, but are very decorative.

1. Choose a beautiful Christmas paper, like this one from the Joyeux Noel collection from Glitz. You will also need some kind of round punch like the one in the picture. Add a piece of trim and a piece of string.

2. Punch 8 shapes. Then fold them so that a triangle is formed in the middle. I used a ruler to make the folding. Make sure that 4 of them are folded with the front pattern facing you and 4 of them with the back pattern facing you.

3. Now, glue the shapes together like this. 4 shapes will form a hemisphere.

4. Before you glue the last one together with the first one, attach the string.

5. Make the other hemispere with the other 4 shapes.

5. Glue the two hemispheres together and make a bow. You can always decorate it more if you want to. Now you are finished.
