Finaste du

My children are the most precious thing to me. The time spent with them is the happiest time of the day even though it is just helping them with their homework. I scrapped a page about my boy and I wanted to use more neutral colours. The papers are from the Life by the Sea collection made by Maja Design. The different colours and the patterns are really gorgeous.
Finaste duI added some texture to the background paper using different masks and texture paste. Inside the clock I put this resin piece holding a heart.Finaste du narbild1I love punches and use them frequently. Behind the photo I used some string as a kind of photo mat.Finaste du narbild3Even though it is a boy's page I added some flowers. I LOVE flowers. To make a flow I added the swirls in brown.Finaste du narbild2

A Moment in Time

I have two new projects for you today showcasing Blue Fern Studios products.

First a layout with a photo of my sweet niece. Here I have used two chipboards - the  Floral Clock and the A Moment in Time.

The chipboard pieces are altered in the same way. First I painted it in white gesso. Then I dabbed some tattered rose coloured Distress Stickles here and there. It has the same rose colours as the flowers. And to finish them off, I covered the pieces in clear crackle paint.

And here is a close-up of the gorgeous clock.

Blue Fern Studios: A Moment in Time, Floral Clock
Other: papers (Glitz Design), flowers and leaves (Prima), crystal swirl (Prima), paper clips, butterfly die (Quickutz), butterfly punch (Martha Stewart), gesso, distress stickles - tattered rose (Ranger), clear crackle paint (Ranger), paper clips

Secondly, I made a card for my sister-in-law. I used the Garden Window.

I painted it in white gesso. When it had dried I used a script stamp (black) and then inked it with gold ink.

Blue Fern Studios: Garden Window
Other: flowers (Prima and Manor House Creations), leaves, papers (Glitz Design), border punch (Martha Stewart, alpha stickers (American Crafts), stamps, gesso, ink

Blue Fern Studios Blog Hop!

Hi everybody and welcome to my blog. My name is Camilla Ekman and I am one of the members of the design team at Blue Fern Studios. I live in Sweden together with my husband and two children. I have been scrapping for a few years and developed a kind of romantic style where I use a lot of flowers and swirls and stuff. I love to photograph and scrapbooking is a perfect way of using those photos. I like the creativity and scrapbooking is a way for me to relax from work. I work fulltime as a montessori teacher. My family and I love to spend time with friends and love to travel. When I am home not scrapping, I read books and listen to a lot to music.

What: Blue Fern Studios Blog Hop
When: February 8th-10th, 2013
How: Simply visit each of the blogs below, then leave a comment (and become a follower, if required). There are sure to be plenty of goodies along the way!
Who: Here is the blog list, in order:

As long as you stop at each of these blogs and leave a comment, you will be in the running for the randomly-drawn GRAND PRIZE:

So if you are a follower, new or old, on my blog and leave a comment to this post, you are in the drawing of my little prize pack. There are some Blue Fern Studios chipboards of course, but also some stamps and some flowers...

What would a blog hop be without some creative projects? Here is a layout I made using the Blue Fern Studios Fancy Birdcage. I have painted it in gesso and added some green Shimmerz and some tattered rose distress stickles and then covered it all in Glossy Accent.

Next stop on the hop is the sweet and talented Eila Sandberg!

Fylld av kärlek

*For my Maja Design Give Away click here*

It's a new month and a new sketch at Once Upon A Sketch. This is my layout for the challenge.

Theme : LOVE

The month of February is the month we celebrate St Valentine's Day here in Australia and in many parts of the world. Love takes on many forms..relationship love, parental love etc etc. So let's think about what the above quote can mean and how you can interpret it on a layout. You are free to scrap about any kind of love you wish however you like based on the following sketch.

Ideas for journalling: love for your partner, family , parents ,siblings , children, work, students, craft, music, extra curricular activities. Whatever it is that you connect LOVE with.

Your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch below.

Please make sure that we see some sort of journalling on your layouts and please tell us where your journalling is . You are allowed to journal in any language but please tell us where on your page we will find your journalling. Remember journalling has to be a bit more than a title, or a generic comment. Hidden journalling is perfectly fine.

Crea Diem is one of my many favourites among the Maja Design collections. This week I have created a layout about my sister's wedding. The Crea Diem papers are soft and elegant papers for special occasions and a scent of summer.
Bruden The Crea Diem collection is very versatile in colours and patterns. It is hard to choose which side to use since they are all so beautiful. And know what...if you visit my blog YOU can win the entire 12x12 collection...18 papers! On Feb 28th I will draw one lucky winner.
CreaDiem-P1Ok, back to my layout. I added some chipboard pieces from Blue Fern Studios to match the Maja Design papers. I painted them in gesso and then stamped with black ink. To finish them off I used Glossy accent.
Bruden narbild1I like to use stamps on my layouts, but I find it difficult to stamp directly on the paper. So many things can go wrong. LOL. Therefore I stamp on transparency paper and create a kind of overlay instead.
Bruden narbild2Here is my title which I dabbed with a bit of white gesso. And you also see the big white bow I made.Bruden narbild3
Supplies: Maja Design Crea Diem papers: Den oersättliga tiden, Stark och fri, Fånga Dagen; chipboard swirls (Blue Fern Studios), flowers (Manor House Creations), crystal swirl (Prima), stamp (Glitz Design), alpha (Prima), ribbon

Maja Design Give-Away!

Maja Design makes the most beautiful patterned papers. In January I used the GORGEOUS Crea Diem collection for my Maja Design projects. And guess what.... YOU have the chance to win the entire 12x12 collection! How awesome is that?!?! All you have to do is to comment to this post and you will be in the drawing. The winner will be drawn on  Feb 28th.

"This longtime favourite collection is a tribute to the beautiful Latin language with all its words of wisdom. ”Ab imo pectore”, ”Dum spriro, spero”, ”Verae amicitiae sempiternae sunt” – There is a saying for every feeling. Explore the papers and find your own favourite phrase to use in your craftwork.
Enjoy the 12×12 collection in pink, green, or blue.  Or why not personalize the black and whites with ink to get your own favourite colours? No matter how you choose to use these papers, have fun and seize the day!"

You can see all the papers in the Crea Diem collection here. And here are the two projects I made with this beautiful collection:
