Pion Design and a layout!

Today is the first anniversary for the Pion Design blog. They are celebrating by offering a wonderful blog candy. Head on over to the Pion Design blog for more details!

And....here's my first layout as a guest designer for Pion Design. My family and some of our dear friends spent Christmas and New Year in Thailand. We spent 15 memorable days there and had the times of our lives. The photo is of me and my husband on Christmas Eve.

It is time to give you a sneak of the February kit from C'est Magnifique Kit Club. This is my first layout for them. It was soooo easy to work with the kit. Loved it!

The colour combo of the February kit is just stunning. I love the mix of purple, pink and gold. The young lady in the picture is the youngest of my nieces. She is waiting for Santa. I made the layout from the February sketch made by dt-member Nadia Cannizzo. To make the DA frame a bit white I used Distress Crackle Paint.

It's soon Christmas, my favourite season of all. I just love the smells, the warmth and the candles. It is a time for getting together with family and friends and just enjoy life. For Glitz this month I wanted to celebrate Christmas, but not in the traditional colours, but in pink. LOL

Get Picky December Sketch

In the end of October I went on a trip to India. We visited villages and schools out in the countryside. It was an overwhelming trip emotionally. Such poverty when it comes to supplies and way of living, but also such richness in sisterhood. I admire those Indian women!

If you look closely, you can see a pale face among those beautiful women...That's me...

This month I played with the divine collection "Vintage Blue". The colours are so rich and the patterns so lovely.

For this layout I used the banner pieces from the ... and chose a picture of my kids. I really like the dark yellow against the blue. The whiter pieces makes the layout brighter.

Swirlydoos September kit!

Sketch #19 at Keeping-the-best is totally gorgeous. I have played with the new resistpapers from Pink Paislee. To create the background I used mists, inks, gesso and stamps. It turned out kind of cool, don't you think...

After the workshop at CountryScrap I went on using the Prima theme. I made a layout for this month's BAP at Prima's blog.

This week's colour challenge at The Color Room is so gorgeous. I made this layout using the sketch and the colours.

I have used different techniques for it - stamping, misting, fussy cutting... Papers, flowers, alpha and stamps are Prima, the overlays are from two different companies (don't remember which though) and the metal piece is from Tim Holtz.

First we made this layout...well, I didn't make it exactly like Ingvild's, but very close...

Today I am going to share some Glitz layouts. In the first layout I have used the gorgeous Laced with Grace collection to scrap this photo of one of my nieces. She is having some yummy ice cream. The colours of the papers are fabulous to use for black and white photos.

To create a place for my title, I layered a Glitzers on top of a Journaling piece.

Next, I used a picture of my teenager standing in front of a brick wall. The colours of Love Games is a bit darker and goes perfectly to these pictures.

First I wanted to create a brickwall on the background paper. I used a mask and some gesso to create the effect.

And then I layered a few Paper Layers and a Peek-A-Boo behind the photo.

And also a Whatnot that also became the actual title of the layout.

The banner pieces are a part of the Journaling.

This layout I created for a Round Robin challenge at Swirlydoos. I made this for my team and it's going to be so much fun to see what the rest of the team will lift from it. The papers are from BoBunny's Timepiece.

How I store...

...my layouts. Someone has been asking my how I store my layouts, since they are quite bulky. I have made quite a few layouts for my children and those layouts are put into albums. These are the ones I have used:They are from AMM and the folders inside are quite wide. If you make less bulky pages, the album has room for 40 layouts. If they are bulky you can put about 20.

My talented friend Lisa Valentine showed examples of how to use gesso and I was inspired at once. I have bought a new mask from Prima. Just look at how cool it is when used with gesso.

Zva Creative August DT Blog Hop!

The summer trade show was in July, which means brand new Zva Creative products. So please keep an eye out for them at your local craft stores.

As you know, Zva offers so many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.

My daughter is going to become a vet when she grows up. Her decision was made a loooooong time ago. I really hope she fulfills her dream. She really loves animals.

This year we went to Kolmården, a LARGE zoo here in Sweden. She was in heaven!!!

I have joined the design team at Country Scrap, a lovely Swedish store. This is my first layout for Country Scrap. I have used papers from Pion Design and G45 along with gorgeous flowers and butterflies. The picture is from Öland where there is a lot of windmills. We visited Öland just for a couple of hours but I think we stopped at ten windmills...

We spent some fantastic days at the coast outside Stockholm. One of our friends taught our kids how to water ski. You can just imagine the sparkling face of my daughter when she finally could ski all around the island.

The layout is made by the August kits from Swirlydoos Kit Club.

The large flowers is from the main kit and the smaller ones from the flower add-on.

The papers are from the technique add-on. They are the new resist papers from Pink Paislee. I have sprayed them with mist and then just wiped them off. Fabulous papers!!!!

Summerfun with Glitz

Today it is my turn to share some layouts on the Glitz Design blog.

Summer has been fantastic. I have spent A LOT of time with my family. We went away on a vacation in Sweden as we feel that it is important for the children to see how beautiful our own country is. I took 1051 photos in 8 days. LOL

Anyway, this is a layout with pictures from a small town called Söderköping. It is such a cute little town with a lot of old buildings. I thought Laced with Grace was such a suitable paper collection for those photos.

Together with some flowers and bling I made the layout as cute as the town.

I also used a beautiful Peek-A-Boo.

A little piece of scrap to show today...

The feeling of not being good enough is overwhelming sometimes... So much pressure on being a good mother, a good wife, a good teacher, a good friend....I just have to realize that most of the pressure comes from inside of me.

My first blog post for Glitz Design

It's such an honour to be making my very first own blog post for the Glitz blog today. I have been playing with two of the winter releases from Glitz. First, my absolute favourite...the Laced with Grace collection... I just LOVE the colours and the patterns. In the photo my son is hugging one of his younger cousins. He adores her!

The piece from the Whatnot pops among the paler flowers.

Today I want to share a really happy layout. The Zva Creative flowers and bling are just perfect for the bright and shiny photo. I got inspiration from one of the weekly challenges (#66) at The Color Room. The colours of the Zva flowers perfectly matched the colours of that week.

Mini album "Me at 40"

My dear daughter (12) took some photos of me on my birthday a few weeks back and I wanted to use some of them in a mini. This album came with the embellishment add-on kit for July at Swirlydoos. The embellishment kit also included the clear stamps for Butterfly Garden from Pink Paislee. I used them a lot in the mini.

The papers, the stamps, the ribbon and most of the flowers are from the July kits at Swirlydoos. I have added the leaves and the swirls from my own stash.

My Mother & Me

This is my very first layout as a designer for Glitz Design. Every month there is a challenge over at the Glitz blog and this month the challenge is to use background stamps. Today is my 40th birthday. A lot of mixed feelings for sure. I'm happy to be who I am, and at the same time I don't want to get older (nor younger actually). Anyway...

A few weeks ago I got a mail .... I was asked if I wanted to join the Glitz designteam!!! Wooooohoooooo! Of course I said YEEEEESSSS!!! I really L.O.V.E. their products!!! So watch out... you'll see some Glitz projects here every month. You can see the announcement here.
